In the hands of an expert licensed technician, dermaplaning can help you achieve smoother, more radiant skin with one simple tool. Coming soon to Granite Bay Cosmetic Surgery.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a mechanical skin resurfacing technique that uses a flat surgical blade to exfoliate dull, damaged skin cells, remove debris, and reveal smoother, healthier, and more attractive skin beneath.
What are the benefits of dermaplaning?
Our patients love dermaplaning, and so do we! Here’s why:
- It’s simple, safe, and effective skin resurfacing for all skin types
- Minimizes fine lines, acne scars, and other blemishes without lasers or chemicals
- Removes annoying “peach fuzz” from the face
- Helps make-up go on more smoothly
- Helps skincare products work more effectively (read: you see results faster) by enhancing absorption
How does dermaplaning work?
While provider skill is key for safe treatment and great results, dermaplaning is not surgery. In fact, it is one of the less invasive skin resurfacing techniques we perform, which is impressive, considering how effective it is at reducing blemishes and improving skin texture.
During treatment, our experienced, licensed technician will gently move the flat side of the blade across the skin, using very light pressure and short, precise strokes to remove just the outer layers of skin. This allows her to exfoliate in just the right area to address your concerns.

What to expect with dermaplaning at Granite Bay Cosmetic
Our licensed technician performs dermaplaning at our Granite Bay Cosmetic Surgery Medical Spa during a quick appointment, typically 30 to 60 minutes. After cleansing your skin, she will gently scrape away dirt, cellular debris, and peach fuzz. Typically, we’ll conclude treatment with the application of moisturizer and/or SPF.
Dermaplaning does not hurt, and it is very low-risk—mild, temporary redness is usually the only side effect. Dermaplaning can easily be combined with other skin care treatments, and we’ll often use it to enhance the effects of a chemical peel or facial. Most patients have 3 to 6 treatments for optimal results.
