Granite Bay Brow Lift

The upper one-third of your face—your eyes and brow—are major players in communicating your emotions. When we’re younger, what our faces say is pretty accurate: when we’re content, our brows look relaxed; when we’re angry, our brows furrow.

Unfortunately, aging likes to interfere with our natural expressions. Skin loses elasticity, tissues sag, and our brow becomes heavy and furrowed, which leads to a grouchy or overly concerned appearance.  Fortunately, there’s a fix for the “perma-frown”—brow lift surgery with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Haley Bray.

A brow lift raises sagging skin and connective tissue and smoothes the brow to restore a more youthful, refreshed appearance to the forehead. The surgery is typically straightforward with results ready to show off within a couple of weeks.

Do I need a brow lift?

Brow lift (a.k.a. forehead lift) surgery corrects signs of aging from the eyebrows up. If you’re bothered by any of the following, a brow lift can help restore a more open, refreshed appearance to your eyes and forehead:

  • Your brow skin sags over your upper eyelids
  • You have deep folds or creases on your forehead or between the eyes
  • A sagging brow is causing you to look permanently angry, tired or worried

If you have sagging skin on your upper or lower eyelids as well, Dr. Bray can perform an eyelid lift at the same time as a brow lift.

Your brow lift surgery in Granite Bay

Dr. Bray performs two types of brow lifts: traditional and endoscopic. Which of these techniques she’ll use for you depends on your anatomy and goals, as well as how severely your brow is sagging now.

Traditional Brow Lift

This approach uses direct sight (vs. an endoscope). Dr. Bray makes incisions (length depends on how much excess skin needs to be removed) along the scalp or back of the ears, just behind the hairline. Through these incisions, she lifts underlying tissues to elevate the brows into a natural position, removes excess skin, and adjusts remaining skin to restore a smoother, firmer brow appearance.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

With an endoscopic brow lift, Dr. Bray can lift sagging tissues and smooth the skin through a series of very tiny incisions along the hairline, using a tiny camera for sight. Because the incisions are so much smaller, recovery is typically a speedier process.

Understandably, patients tend to favor the endoscopic approach, but it’s not going to get the best result for every patient. If you have a lot of excess skin folds or other issues that would respond better to a traditional approach, Dr. Bray will let you know. Once healed, scars from either procedure are well-concealed by the hairline. Get info on brow lift recovery »
